It has been my absolute delight to stay in The Coral Court Homestay during my trip to Agra. After landing at the gates of this homestay I knew that I have made no mistake by choosing this gorgeous homestay over many in the list.

Coral court homestay

The Coral Court homestay is ideally located in a quiet lane just off the main road at a walking distance from Taj Mahal. It is a 2 Minute walk to Shilpgram Tajmahal Parking, where tourists can buy entry tickets to be picked up by golf buggies to reach eastern Gate of Tajmahal.

Run by a family this place is tastefully done by the owners keeping in mind the heritage and rich royal history of the land. The decor is colourful and has a character of its own. This place is adequately furnished, it boosts a book library, art pieces that are carefully curated and a wonderful rooftop with view of Taj Mahal at a distance.

Hosts are welcoming and happy to share information about the place. This is a homestay and the hosts live in the same house. The rooms are spacious and clean, with both ceiling AC and Fan. It is designed such a way that all rooms have access to roof terrace where you can unwind.

A hearty home cooked breakfast is included in the room rate and is served fresh and hot in the dining area.

Ideal for couple and solo travellers. Neighbourhood isn’t over-run by touts who harass tourists.

Note: There was no TV in the room. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are a bunch of people used to being noisy and disturb the privacy of other guests or serenity of the place. Because of its proximity to the Taj Mahal there are no restaurants in the neighbourhood. You would find few after a short walk.

My overall rating to this homestay would be 4.7 / 5

Why I prefer to stay in Homestays and B&Bs while travelling ?

Few years back when I had just caught the travel bug, I used to zero in on a place and book hotels without giving much thought to it. My Partner then introduced me to Airbnbs and Homestays. The whole experience of living with locals, exchanging culture, making new friends, tasting authentic food and unlimited conversations with travellers fascinates me. It’s a learning that no texts book would teach.
